My Home

I go to the most wonderful church that I could ask for...I had to wait for three weeks for God to provide a wonderful bike for me and simultaneously lead me to this church...its called New Covenant and the members are either Dutch or immigrants from Sudan (The pastor is from Sudan as well)...I love the openess and directness of the pastor and the whole function of this small new church...I really truely believe that it is modeled after Paul's teachings and practices in the New Testament...on many Sundays I am part of the band playing the huge African drums...and always walk away with an even deeper hunger to learn more about God's will for my life.

Groningen now

You wouldn't believe the amount of celebrating this country does. It seems like holidays every other week encourage massive partying...the average 38 hours a week and very uncompetetive work environments...it took me a while to get used to being told "that person won't be here until next Tuesday"...people don't take on each other's positios to get the job done or make the customer's needs a priority....nothing is open on Sundays and Thursdays are the only nights of the week that establishments stay open until nine p.m....massive amounts of people seem to constantly be crowding shops and main streets of the city center...and believe it or not...I am still wearing jeans and two layers of shirts under my lighter winter jacket :)
World Cup is number one of interest here in Europe...the streets are already lined with Orange flags (the National color) and next week I am told, will be even more insane!
I really do enjoy the massive heart felt energy that Europeans feel for soccer...its different than American Football, everyone in the city and country is overwhelmed with excitement...especially to see countries competing!

Keukenhof Gardens

This huge garden was like going to a flower Disneyland...seven of my Chinese and Korean friends and I took a two hour train ride to the nearby city...then waited in a really long line to be shuttled by bus to the flower wonderland.

Tullips as big as my hand and flowers that hung from the ceiling with roots exposed requiring little soil....after three hours of over exposure...I had seen enough flowers for the next several weeks...
